Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia was one of the first national cemeteries to obtain historic status with the national commission on historic sites. It's location on the banks of the Schuykill River affords it stunning views of the river and the nearby city and landscape. The site is excellent condition and has an extensive education and visitors program. I have been photographing this site for several years now. Here are some examples of last summer's visit.
