I have been trying to get a good shot of this for years but it's been covered in ivy. This past month Dean Cemetery did a major clean up and cleared many of the gravestone's coverings supplied by Mother Nature. Now that it's cleared the image I see has a bit of humor to it. It looks like the angel is pushing aside the shower curtain and coming out of the tub. I'm sure that's not the interpretation the Victorians would have wanted!

Another favorite of mine that I visit when I'm working in Warriston Cemetery. This is the gravestone of George Wardlaw Burnet and his family. The carved angels are on both sides of the stone.

This is Robert Lauder R.S.A. He is located in the Warriston Cemetery. This is another one of those rare shots to grab in the winter when all the overgrown weeds and shrubs are dormant. It's nearly impossible to reach him in the summer.

Drink Ye All of It. This is from the Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh.
And speaking of over the top, this is my favorite gravestone in Dean Cemetery. It's a little bit of Alice in Wonderland! John Lashman is buried here. He was a writer for the Signet.

A face only a mother could love! This portrait has always been my answer to " I am the Walrus". His name is John Waddell and he has a whopper of a gravestone in the Dean Cemetery.
